What the checker looks at
X includes these signals in every profile it sends to a visitor. The checker reads them and tells you which ones are flagged.
- Sensitive account flag
- Whether X marks the account as possibly sensitive, which keeps its posts away from people who filter sensitive content.
- Profile picture and banner
- Whether X puts a sensitive content warning in front of the profile, often because of the profile picture or the banner.
- Account restriction
- Whether X shows a notice that the account is temporarily restricted or may be fake.
- Country withholding
- Whether X hides the account in some countries after a legal request.
- New account limits
- Whether X still applies the limits it uses for new accounts.
What no outside tool can see
The most common restriction on X hides posts from recommendations to people who don’t follow the account. X decides it with labels on posts and accounts, and only the account owner can see them, in X’s Under the Hood report.
Sites that claim to test a ghost ban or reply deboosting from outside read symptoms, not labels. This checker shows For You reach as not testable instead of guessing.
How to read your Under the Hood reportHow it works
The checker loads the account the way x.com does for a visitor who is not logged in, and reads the restriction fields X includes in that response. It never needs a password or access to the account.
A result is reused for 10 minutes for the same account, then checked again.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this an official X tool?
- No. It reads public data X sends to any logged-out visitor. X’s only official report is Under the Hood, which lists your own account’s labels for the previous month.
- Why is For You reach shown as not testable?
- X limits reach in For You with labels that only the account owner can see. No outside tool can read them, so the checker says so instead of showing a pass.
- My result is clean but my reach dropped. Why?
- The public signals cover account-level restrictions. Post labels such as SPAM_HIGH_RECALL, and changes in how X ranks posts, are not visible from outside. Your Under the Hood report lists the labels.
- Does a check notify the account owner?
- No. The checker reads the public profile like any visitor would.
- How often can I run a check?
- Up to 10 checks a minute. The same account returns the same result for 10 minutes.
