How to hide the X (Twitter) sidebars

What X lets you do without an extension
In other words, X has no way to hide either sidebar while keeping a comfortable timeline.

- Yes. Leave “Left navigation” on “Normal” and keep “Hide Right Sidebar” on. The two options are independent.
- How do I reach notifications and messages without the left navigation?
- Use X's keyboard shortcuts: G then N opens notifications, G then M opens messages, G then H goes back home. Press ? on X to see the full list. If you prefer to click, choose “Compact” to keep the icons.
- Does hiding the sidebars change my X account?
